CEO For more than 30 years, Nina Cottrell has worked for the NAR affiliate family, beginning as a secretary and working her way up in 1999 to the position of CEO at the Council of Residential Specialists, Early on, she worked with the Residential Brokerage (CRB) and Commercial Investment (CCIM) division of the National Institute of Real Estate Brokerage, which was later renamed the REALTORS® National Marketing Institute. During this time, it was determined that there was a need for training geared for sales agents. This decision led to the formation of the Council of Residential Specialists organization and its Certified Residential Specialist (CRS) Designation. Twenty-nine years after the CRS Designation began, Cottrell has worked with a new Council President each year and has seen the organization’s membership grow to more than 47,000. Never one to rest, she is lending her guidance to new Council initiatives such as enhancing the education offerings for CRS Members and students, and moving forward on international expansion in line with the Council of Residential Specialist’s strategic plan. |
